My friend, Jennifer trusted me with her daughter Lila's first birthday party cupcakes! Since she was born in December the theme was red and green polka dots. So pretty! She said the guests loved them and someone even asked if they were from Sprinkles Cupcakes in Dallas!! What a great compliment! These are red velvet with a cream cheese frosting.

Here are some pictures of Mother's Day sampler boxes I did. They can be ordered with 5 of the same flavor or 4 different flavors(sampler pack). However if you do want to order the sampler pack I ask that you please order a minimum of two so I am not left with dozens of cupcakes! In these boxes were Cherry Lemonade, Andes Mint, Boston Cream, and Key Lime.

I can add a personalized tag with whatever message you would like it to say, "Thank You" or "Congratulations" or "New Baby". Or I can leave the tag blank for you to write your own message.

These make great teacher gifts for end of the school year and would also be very fun to give instead of flowers for someone in the hospital or after a child's big stage performance!

First Birthday Party

I did an order for a baby girl's first birthday. These were white cake with chocolate pudding filling and my buttercream frosting that I have been perfecting! The baby's mom called to tell me how much she loved them and that everyone thought they were so cute and tasted great! Thanks for ordering from me, Eloise! And thanks for sending me this picture.

My little advertising tool

I found this adorable recipe for cupcake lollipops at a very fun blog www.bakerella.blogspot.com. She created this and was featured on Martha Stewart. You can watch the video from her blog and see the process I went through. My friend Brandi called and I was about 7 hours into the process with having had a breakdown and the first batch going to the trash. But I completed them and took them to playgroup to advertise my business. I may try this again in the future as I would like to master this recipe and besides...look how cute they are!!

Moms loved them!! Tonight she is going on a date with Mr. Andes Mint to a potluck. I call them Beauty and The Beast because Andes Mint was very lumpy and not attractive at all, sorry fella! Wish them luck in a co-ed crowd!

Business supplies and my first order!!

Yesterday my business cards and other supplies arrived just in time for my first order this morning! I did a box of baby boy cupcakes and a box of key lime for a friend who is taking dinner to two families tonight and wanted Baby Cakes to be the dessert! Thanks for my first order, Kristin!

Next up for the rest of this week is more baby boy cupcakes, almond, and andes mint. I'll post those pics over the weekend!

Birthday Party

I did "Birthday Surprise" cupcakes for Paige's 12th birthday party. They were Jumbo sized with assorted chocolate surprise centers; peanut butter cup, hershey's kisses, or rolos. They were a yellow cake with milk chocolate frosting and chocolate dot candy sprinkles. The monogrammed picks were covering lollipops- so the kids got an extra treat! They were a big hit!

Getting Started...

I am almost ready to launch Baby Cakes!! I just ordered business cards off of VistaPrint- the most affordable printing company online! I have been useing that company for everything lately. Once those come in I will begin to look for ways to advertise locally. Then depending on what kind of response I get, I will begin to hunt for boxes online. I did this about a month ago and found just a few but they want you to buy in bulk and I just don't know how much I will sell until I get going. So for now I will probably buy a few boxes at a time locally. I will also begin the ongoing search for great ribbon deals as my signature wrapping will consist of a color coordinated ribbon on each box.
